Candy Apple Cupcakes



A fun change from the usual caramel apple is these Candy Apple Cupcakes. They taste like a mix of apple and caramel in a moist and fluffy cupcake. These are great for fall or any other sweet event.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup apple cider
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped apples
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • Red food coloring optional
  • Candy apple decorations optional

Instructions:

Warm up your oven to 350F 175C and put cupcake liners in a muffin tin

Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt together in a medium-sized bowl using a whisk

Put away

Put the softened butter and sugar in a different large bowl and mix them together until they are light and fluffy

One egg at a time, making sure to mix well after each addition

Add the vanilla extract and mix well

Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ones, mixing in the milk and apple cider every so often

Put the dry ingredients in first and end with them

Don't mix any further than that

For a candy apple red color, you can add a few drops of red food coloring if you want to

To make the color even, mix

Add the chopped apples and mix them in well

Fill up each muffin tin liner about two thirds of the way to the top with cupcake batter

After the oven is hot, bake the cupcakes for 18 to 20 minutes, or until a toothpick stuck in the middle comes out clean

After putting the cupcakes in the pan to cool for a while, move them to a wire rack to cool completely

After the cupcakes have cooled, make a well in the middle of each one with a small spoon or a piping bag

Put caramel sauce in the well

You can decorate the top of each cupcake with a candy apple if you want to
